What
does The Satellite Program offer an ISP?
- Ability to
add a last mile High Speed Broadband option in areas where
DSL or other services are not available to connect the
home or business to the internet
- Only a minor
ISP equipment configuration is required for an ISP to
begin offering the new satellite broadband service to
its customers
- Low cost and
simple dish installation at customer's home
- No monthly
commitment required
- Training,
sales and online end-user billing support provided
Here's How it Works...
A satellite dish
is professionally installed at your home or business so
it faces the southeastern sky. A cable is run from the dish
to an internal satellite receiver that is easily installed
in your computer. The service works by giving you a 400K
high-speed connection when you are retrieving files from
the Internet; for example, when you view a Web page, read
your email, or download a file. Your computer is also connected
via V.92 modem giving you modem compression, to allow a
faster uplink speed, and by using the V.92 modems there
is not a need to add a second phone line, all Internet.
“Requests” to the Internet are sent over this
dial-up connection
